ruby, sapphire jade and pearl which are famous in the
world. The mine producing ruby and sapphire is situated
at Mogok Region in Mandalay Division. Mogok region
produces not only ruby and sapphire, purple sapphire but
also produces other semi—precious stones such as
damburite, topaz, onyx and gawmate (zircon). Therefore
Mogok region is known as “Gems Land”. |
